Minutes

Feedback from councillors attended Video Conference/ Improving the Playground.

Jayden Gollings, Caitlin Squires and Lloyd Sparkes attended a video conference in school conferencing with three other local schools to discuss what they think about their own school playgrounds. The other schools that took part in this conference were St. Josephs, Middlethorpe and Signhills.

Ideas what our councillors liked from the other school playground:

Signhills the pupils have a boom-box that is looked after by Year 6 monitors which goes out into the playground and pupils can bring their own C.D’s to play and listen to at playtimes.

St.Josephs- their playground is just like ours.

Middlethorpe They have a trimline which is mini assault course with tyre swings, a racing track were they can use remote control cars, tennis court and magnetic large board games, painted wall games and nature garden where they have a seating / quiet area. Pupils can also have a choice if they don’t want to go outside and go in an activity room supervised by Teaching Assistants.

After the holidays our three councillors are hoping to visit the schools to look at their playgrounds and bring back more feedback on ways to improve our playground.

A.O.B

A request for dinner supervisors- are we allowed the plastic goal posts out of the shed to use on the field when dry at dinner time and target with grip balls?

In the Dinner hall pupils are throwing their food around when the supervisors are trying to stop this, pupils are been rude back to them and pupils are been very rude to our new dinner lady- Mrs Morgan and not respecting her.

Welcome all bloggers!

This is the William Barcroft Junior School blog and it is the place to visit if you wish to keep up to date with our children’s learning.

Children will contribute their thoughts each week related to:  what they have learned, problems they have come across and the next steps they will take to move their learning forwards.

PLEASE ENJOY!
