ECO TEAM Meeting 30/03/09
Attendance: Ashleigh Ross, Emily Lamming, Jasmin Tasker, Saskia Garner, Amy Lambert, Lewis Dawes, Shadyn Farrar, Elliott Sweeney, Scarlett Turrell, Chloe Ritchie, Bethany Hope, Bethany Kenny, Katie Concannon, Keiron Lawton, Andrew Wilson, Dominic Smith, Jemma Smith, Bethany Croft, Andrei Chitu, Daniel Brown and Virginia Massicott-Brown.
Mrs Snell talked to the Eco Team about the plans that Environworks had drawn up for the Wildlife Area.
Mrs Snell explained that although the plans were good, this wasn’t really what the Eco Team had asked for. The Eco Team wanted to focus on an Allotment Area.
Mrs Snell suggested that members of the team come up with their own designs for a growing area.
Mrs Snell would contact, Bill from Environworks to discuss things further.
Mrs Snell told the Eco Team about the competition that she had entered the group into to attend the Lincolnshire Show. The show doesn’t take place until June but we will need to start work on the project as soon as we come back after Easter. Our project will focus on improving the school grounds, in particular developing an Allotment Area.
Mrs Snell also told the meeting about a painting competition that has been organised through East Midlands in Bloom. The Eco Team were asked if they would like to take part or if they wanted Mrs Snell to involve the whole school. The Eco Team decided that this was something they would like to do on their own.
Some members of the team suggested that we could do an Assembly to help inform the rest of the school about the work we are doing.
Mrs Snell informed the team that work had been carried out to improve the pond area in the Quad. The Eco Team were all taken to look at the work.
The meeting closed at 12.55.
Next meeting will be after Easter.
